COLONIAL CUP CHAMPION MALLARDS TO CELEBRATE UHL TITLE TOMORROW NIGHT AT The MARK;
ADMISSION FREE FOR TEAMS FINAL GROUP APPEARANCE

Moline, IL The Quad City Mallards will celebrate their 2001 Colonial Cup Championship at The MARK of the Quad Cities on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The event is free to the public.

The celebration will be the last official group appearance for the Colonial Cup Champion Mallards. Each player will be featured in the festivities along with highlights of the playoffs the Quad Citys historic fifth straight 50-win season and a behind the scenes look at the Mallards championship celebration shown on the video board at The MARK.

The Mallards captured the United Hockey League championship on Saturday at Asheville, North Carolina winning the best-of-seven Colonial Cup Finals 4 games to 1.

"We wanted to provide the faithful flock who have followed this team for six years the chance to celebrate with best Colonial Cup team ever," said Steve Hyman, Executive Director of The MARK of the Quad Cities. "This event will provide a means for the fans to get as close as possible to being a part of this championship. It is tough to provide that when the team wins the championship on the road, but this event will give everyone that forum and is also a way to say thank you to a lot of people for a great year."

The event will also feature $ 1 hot dogs, Pepsi products, popcorn and $ 2 draft beers. There will be no charge for parking. Fans will also have the opportunity to get autographs and purchase Mallards Colonial Cup Championship merchandise. The Colonial Cup and the Tarry Cup, won by the Mallards for the best regular season record with a 55-12-7 and a league record 117 points, will both be on display.

This Colonial Cup Championship marks the third title for the Mallards in their six year team history. They won previous championships in 1997 and 1998 and have appeared in the Colonial Cup Finals for five straight seasons.
